Robert Norman Ross or as we known as Bob Ross was born in Daytona Beach, Florida at October 29, 1942 – July 4, 1995
Bob Ross was an American painter, art instruction, and TV host. He was the creator of a show called "The Joy Of Painting". As a child Bob loved animals and spent his time, taking care of injured animals. After just a year in high school, he dropped out of started working for his dad

In 1961, Bob Ross enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would spend the next 20 years of his life. During his time in the Air Force, he was posted to the Eielson Base in Alaska. It was in Alaska that he began taking painting classes. Bob was dissatisfied with his painting classes, because his instructor only told teach abstract terms without really teaching one how to paint. His frustations came to and end when he watch PBS Program, The Magic of Oil Painting. The host of the show is Bill Alexander, he used 15th century painting technique known as Alla Prima or wet to wet this technique involved applying oil on the canvas continuously without waiting for it to dry. He then retired from army and from that he learned how to paint using oil and started his own PBS show called "The Joy Of Painting". The show ran from 1983 until 1994 and it has become fan favorite. His humble and positive attitude makes the show very enjoyable. Ross completed at least 30.000 paintings in his lifetime. Bob was diagnosed lymphomia at 1994, despite his humble and posstive attitude he prefer to kept his illness away from attention of the public.
