BOMBING OF
HIROSHIMA & NAGASAKI

The bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened on August 6 in Hiroshima and August 9 in Nagasaki, The United States deployed 2 nuclear bombs on both cities, leaving casualties up to 226.000.

The cause of the bombing is due to Japan attacked Pearl Harbour on 1941 without being provoked, with at least 353 jet-fighers bomber aircraft, and torpedo jet by Japanase navy.

Hirsohima stands around flat river delta, with only few hills. The bomb was deployed on the centre of the city where most of the Japanese people lives with wooden residentials structures. These factor meant that the total casualties and destruction in Hiroshima is higher than Nagasaki which around 150.000. The bomb in Hiroshima destroyed 13 square kilometers of city. Almost half of the buildings in Hiroshima were completely destroyed and burned. Almost all of the structures in the city were either wiped out or damaged.

Because of the Nagasaki’s geography and the bombing is focus being away for the citry centre, most of the bomb damge was limited tot he Urakami Vlley and part of downton Nagasaki. Most of the Nuclear damage were shielded by the hills around the Urakami River. But the impact is still devastating, with casualties around 75.000 and buildings wiped out.

Bombing Hiroshima and nagasaki happened during WW2, Cause of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is because Japan attacked Pearl Harbour. The Atomic Bomb explosion resulted in horrific casualties and destruction in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and also Nagasaki.

Survivors can also get cancer rates from long-term exposure to radiation. The bomb was caused by what Japan did to American, which is attacking Pearl Harbor without being provoked at all, the United States weren’t ready and didn’t expect any attack so it was a surprised attack from Japan.

Story Telling

The Elephant Rope

A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he spotted that the elephants weren’t being kept in cage or held by the use of chains.

All that was holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs.

As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily done so, but didn’t try to it at all.

Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants were just standing and never tried to escape?

The trainer replied :

“when they’re very young and much smaller we use the same size of rope to tie them, and at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they’re still conditioned to believe that the rope can still hold them from escaping, so they never tried to escape.”

The only reason that the elephants weren’t breaking free from the camp was that overtime, the adopted the believe that it wasn’t just possible.

Moral of the story:
No matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief that what you want to achieve is possible. Believing you can become success is the most important step in actually achieving it.

Question :
1. What's the moral value of the story?

2. What's the conclusion of the story?

3. At the paragraph 3 "As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp."  the synonym of the word "gazed" ?

4. At the paragraph 3 "he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp" what's the antonym of the word "confused" ?

5. At the trainer dialogue, "when they’re very young and much smaller we use the same size of rope to tie them, and at that age, it’s enough to hold them." what does the word "they're" refers to?

Example of indirect sentence :

My last holiday

On my last holiday, most of the time i spent my time stayed at home and do nothing but man's caving. But sometimes i go hang out with my friends and spent my time with them. We usually hang out at paskal because in paskal it has theater movies, delicious food, game master, etc.

At paskal there's a place called "Dot's Board Game Cafe". Where we can play any board games while eating, it cost Rp. 30.000 to enter the place includes tax. For Rp. 30.000 we have no time limits and we can play for as long as we want, in there we can also order some food and drinks but you gotta pay it after you finished playing.

In Dot's Board Game Cafe we have a favorite board game called "Thanos Rising" where we're playing as the avenger, recruiting allies, defeat  the enemies and prevent thanos from collecting all the six infinity stone. From i remember if 10 allies were dead, thanos wins, and if thanos managed to collect all the six infinity stone, thanos wins too. We haven't win any games but we're having fun.

At December 26 my and my family went to Semarang to visited my grandpa and celebrate new year. In Semarang we went to so many places for example, we went to Ambarawa Bening, for i remember it cost Rp. 130.000 to enter. It has a beautiful landscape, it is the perfect photo spot. In there it has some kind of dragon boat,

Where we entered it and take a landscape picture, the safety chain has same kind of bells hanging on it, i think it's function is  to warned people to be more careful.

After taking a lots of pictures, we went up and there's a restaurant with a swimming pool and more spot for  photograph. We didn't eat there because the restaurant is about to close any second, since we don't want to wasted the opportunity, we decided to take a flying fox. My family don't like flying fox that much, so it's only me and my younger brother who take the flying fox.

We stayed there for a week, we're happy and having a great time.
